Technology is ubiquitous and unavoidable in today’s world. It is used in everyday personal lives as well as in almost every career path. Teachers need to be able to model the use of technology in their classroom. This gives students the opportunity to engage with technology in order to prepare them for engaging with technology outside of the classroom and to prepare k-12 students to engage with technology in an academic setting so they are not disadvantaged when considering higher education. However, technology is still slow to be utilized in the classroom - especially amongst new teachers. This project attempts to leverage an informal learning platform by creating a YouTube series addressing the technology needs of new teachers in low-income schools. This video series is treated as a mini course and evaluated using the Quality Matters Continuing and Professional Education Rubric. The results of this evaluation are discussed along with implications for other research avenues.
